The challenge was to design a new beer label with an "imported mexican premium look" to compete directly against the well-known and established Corona Brand. David designed and created this unique logo signature text together with the rustic Mayan accents which have a distinctly Mexican look. The barley that underlines and emphasizes the unique Brava logo script, highlights the natural ingredients from which the beer is brewed. David chose warm colors to give the feeling of hot summer days and hence the new advertising tag that followed - "The Beer Of Summer", and the Brava beer label by Lakeport Brewing Company quickly became the most popular brand sold in Ontario — a fact that didn't escape the attention of Labatt and Molson who were the owners of the Brewers Retail and Labatt acquired the label from Lakeport soon after.
